External Javascript Banners And Click Counter Problem

Hi all,

for first sorry for my english.

I'm trying to add an external javascript banner but when I check the statistics the click counter doesn't work.

I can see the views but not the clicks (always 0).

I've added this banner as HTML banner and I've checked "Alter HTML to enable tracking of Clicks" but still doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Zone Chaining And Tracking

I have zone chaining working as follows:

Banners are linked to zone 1
Zone 2 has no banners linked to it
Zone 2 is chained to zone 1

When zone 2 is invoked using its invocation tags, banners from zone 1 are shown correctly. However, the impressions and clicks are tracked for zone 1 (where the banner is linked) instead of zone 2 (the zone called by the invocation tags).

What's the easiest/cleanest way to get the impressions and clicks tracked for the zone whose invocation tag is shown instead of the zone to which the banner is actually linked?

Serving Multiple Banners In One Zone

Is there a way to serve multiple banners in one particular zone so that the banner changes on every refresh? (just like Google ads).

Spreadsheet For Inventory Management

I want a spreadsheet that will help us match up our bookings with the inventory that we manually forecast to be available.

Perhaps a traditional inventory management system for a hotel etc may be adaptable: zones are like the products, traffic is similar to quantity available.

Ad bookings could then be entered, each one subtracting the appropriate amount of traffic off the applicable zone for the period of the booking.

Perhaps a chart could illustrate which zones had availablity over the coming month etc.

Has anyone got such a system running?

Invocation Code Tab Not Giving Options

I have established zones, banners,advertisers,campaigns and websites within OPENX Ads Server however when I go to invocation code on a zone the drop down box is empty. I have been through the forum and tried many things but I have had no luck in getting this to work.

Iframes And Forms?

I've got a backfill campaign i want to run that's not a clickable < a href > ad, it's an actual form.

I've set it up as an iframe. The iframe draws in the form html. the end result is that the ad block should display a nice fillable form.

But when I set this up as a banner, it wants a destination url.for the ad (which is handled by the form submit button, I don't want it clickable).
Any way to set this up?

Two Backfill Campaigns

I have a variety of sites pulling ads from our openx install and am trying to set up two backfill campaigns. One is geotargetted by country, the next is 'for everyone else'. My question is how do I set this up?

Banner A: low priority, no conditoins
Banner B: low priority, geotargetted to one country only.

If I do it that way, can I be assured that for visitors in the geotargetted country, that they'll always see Banner B? i.e. will openx know to serve Banner B over Banner A to that country?

Display "advertising Analysis Report" To An "advertiser

Hi,
we have created an "advertiser" user for one of our Advertisers and when he goes to Statistics - > Advanced Reports, he can only see the "Campaign Analysis Report" option to generate reports.

However we would like him to ne able to have the "Advertising Analysis Report" also, as through this option he can generate a total csv for all the campaigns of the current Advertiser.

Can you help me on how we can achieve that?

Direct Selection - With Zoneid And Keyword

i want to move a openx installation to a system where the mysql is in a master <-> master replication mode.

the proble is that i found no information about openx and mysql replication.

did somebody tryed this before, when yes please share your experience with me/us. :-)

which database types use copanys with a lot of traffic for openx?

Fix For Contracted Campaigns

I'm either committing suicide or going back to phpadsnew, and both will be painful non-solutions.

I'm out of words to describe the fact that there is just no way of having meaningful delivery of contracted campaigns with 2.8.1.

I am scared of 2.8.2 as that instllation seems to come with another full set of problems.

I tried this patch (https://developer.openx.org/fisheye/changelog/openx?cs=38967) but i am still having the kinds of delivery problems that have been mentioned on this forum over and over.

Is there some sort of manual fix?

I am extremely desperate at this point. It's hard to understand that most basic needs for ad delivery are not being met.

Flash Banner Question

I'm curious if there's specs on how a fla file needs to be set up inorder for Open X to pick up on the hard link in the swf file. I have two flash ads on different sites. One Open X picked up that there was a link and asked to convert it. The other, it didn't (and yes, the box was checked to look for the links).

I'm not a flash person, but I'm guessing there's more than one way to add a link when building a flash movie... I'd like to find out the requirements Open X has so I can pass it on to advertisers.

Does Openx Work With Network Banners?

I currently trying to find a solution to track banner impressions and clicks as an affiliate.

We currently take banners from 2 networks, Cheeze/DGM and Manningotlieb. These guys have their own ad serving platforms which advertisers load their banners into and then us, as an affiliate take the banners complete with the networks JS tags etc.

We aren't allowed to manipulate the tags in any way but we would like to record our own impression and click data somehow. Just to re-iterate we can't put traffic through a bounce page or anything like that, the tag has to stay intact.

Someone suggested OpenX but as i understand it, OpenX is ad serving if your an advertiser right? Not an affiliate. Or, does it have the capability to load these 3rd party network banner tags which has loads of JS and stuff like that, not just a basic banner.

I have 6 different zones. All are 728x90. I have 6 different paid advertisors. I would like them to all change zones on each page change or refresh. Not sure how to do this. Also, I will be adding more advertisors, but only for these 6 zones. How will I get say 10 advertisors to equally go to 6 zones.

Can't Link Ads To Zone

I just setup OpenX. I've created advertiser, website, uploaded banner and setup zones. When I go to Zones and click "Linked banners" I see two drop-downs. I select "Link banners by parent campaign" and after the page refreshes I expect to see an advertiser in the drop-down below but it isn't there. I went ahead and created another advertiser, but alas, the same result.

What am I doing wrong? The demo presentation, although a bit outdated, confirms that I am taking the right steps. I'm a bit at a loss now.

Mixing Google Adsense & Another Ad Agency

I have just been running straight google adsense ads that make me between 30$-50$ per day...I was approached by another company (24/7 Real Media) to put their inventory on my pages..They are on a CPM model.

Is there a way that I can setup my OpenX to use both banners running but prioritize Google and possibly run the 24/7 ads when a user has seen the google ads over 4x (Where they would be unlikely to click) ?

Administrator Account Missing

Hi,
Upgraded to Openads a while ago and never used it much. Today I realized I was not logged in as administrator and did not know the administrator login info. I looked in the database and found that phpads_accounts table had Administrator as an account_name but phpads_users had no user named Administrator so I manually added it and changed the default_account_id to match the one in the accounts table. I am able to log in as administrator now.
My questions are:
- will doing it this way cause any problems?
- what is the proper way to make an administrator?
- what happened to the original administrator user? was there supposed to be one?

Banners Stop Showing

I have 3 banners, all iFrame, that are display in one single page.
couple days ago, two of then just stop working.
They are basic the same variation of Google adds, two are 120x240 and one is 468x60

I didn't change anything on OpenX, nor on my server, neither on the page.

it was working for years, went trought many updates and the latest one, done couple months ago, was the:
You are currently using OpenX v2.8.1 running on Apache 2.2.13, PHP 5.2.9 and MySQL 5.1.30-.

I'm doing the update to 2.8.2 right now, but I don't see why it will fix it.

Any other ideas?

Multiple Banners Formats Per Zone

as my topic describes, i want two banner Formats shown in one Zone or other said

<=728 width
<=90 height

or

468x60 && 728x90 Banners

I can not use the * Format as we have several formats per campaign so i would also show content ads and syk scrapers etc..

is there a way to get this done, as i have surfed all day long but could not find a solution for it.

No Stats At All Driving Me Clueless

Hi,

First of all, thank you for helping.

I installed OpenX using Fantastico -- and then found that I had to install the plug-ins separately -- finally got the ads working! Now, I discover there are no stats -- it's 18 days since I installed so there have to be some stats!

I get a message that says "There are currently no statistics available for the period 01-11-2009 to 18-11-2009".

Where can I start solving this problem?

I have a huge problem with banner delivery.

I set geolocated campaigns to a higher priority level, otherwise contracted amount are not met. I only use one zone.

However, the system goes crazy and shows in a few days the amount of ads that should be shown in months.

I'd be very grateful for any help.

I use the current version of Openx.

i have set up 2 advertisers, 1 campaign each, 1 banner each on the same zone. One is set as contract, the other as remnant. I've set up a black index.php page, and i have placed all the 3 kind of invocation code (javascript, php, iframe) but none of them show anyone of the two banners

i'm setting up my campaign, and i see that i have CPM,CPC,CPA,Tenancy options... for some of those i found a definition that explain them, but i can't find a clear box that compares them all.... moreover, i need something bind to the time, be it a day or a month, and i want that campaigns running at the same time on the same banner must split evenly their time on the banner.
How can i accomplish that?

I have problem with Third Party HTML code.

I've pasted it into OpenX Generic HTML Banner and it didn't work.

So I've put it to iframe tag:

Now it looks like Third Party count clicks but OpenX not.

Do somebody know how to change this code to make it work?
