How do I have 2 sidebar widgets? I was able to get the 1 sidebar widget working however I also want to have ads on the other sidebar. I tried to install another copy of the plugin by naming it with a 2 after it but it created a fatal error. I would really appreciate knowing ASAP as we are opening a new membership site on 1/7/09 and need to have everything working perfectly. The site is http://interactive-media-network.com Thank you for your help.

Hey medianetwork,
you can download the "multiple-sidebar" version of the plugin from SVN. Currently there is no official release, but other users have reported that this version work for them: https://svn.openx.org/plugins/wordpress/2.5...dget_instances/ Heiko |

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, the problem that I now have is the following: I am using WP-MU. I am able to save the adserver URL in the directories where WP was installed however none of the multiple blogs will save the Openx adserve URL. It reverts back to the main URL where WP was installed. Please tell me what I can do as there are 39 blogs which cannot be used with OpenX. As an example: http://interactive-media-network.com will work however http://interactive-media-network.com/advertise will not. http://interactive-media-network.com/products will work however http://interactive-media-network.com/products/business will not. Thank you for your help.

Dear medianetwork,
unfortunately the OpenX-Plugin for wordpress has never been tested with WP-MU. I'll give it a try this evening to see if this only a minor issue, but I have to install WP-MU myself for this ... I'll keep you informed asap. Heiko |

The other problem that I have is when I copy the invocation code (javascript) and put it either within a post or within the text of the sidebar the banner comes up but so does a lot of the other code. When you try to delete the code that shows on the page then the banner will not show. I would really like a solution to these problems. Thank you! |

Hm, I have no problem to use the multiple Instances-Version with Wordpress-MU 2.6.5. Here is what I did:
- download the openx-wp-widget.php into wp-content/plugins - enable "plugins" in Site-Admin for each blog; do ---- activate the OpenX-PlugIn ---- edit the OpenX-PlugIn setting ---- add the OpenX Widget to the sidebar done Of course, if you have 39 blogs this is a boring procedure, but each blog work with the plugin independently - I also tried to use a different adserver for each blog without a problem. Well a more "WP-MU" like version could offer some more "user-friendly" (default) settings or should really work as a "mu-plugin" ... but noone requested it so far. Heiko |

Dear Heiko:
You misunderstood the problem. It is not the plugin. You must create a new blog. As I stated it will work on the original, not the additional blogs. Then go to that new blog and try to install the openx server information into the plugin. It reverts back to the original blog where you installed the script. I was able to get it to work with 1 banner by using iFrame only. The code for the other javascript and other mode only leaves extra code on the actual post or sidebar. So the plugin will not work for the additional blogs by adding an ID. I still do not know if it will work with it's own pictures as the picture took about 15 minutes to show up and I used a picture that I had installed on the original blog only so far. Please try to find a solution to this problem. Thank you! |

Dear medianetwork,
I am sorry, I can reproduce your problem. I added another blog to my test-install from yesterday. First this new blog didn't have any plugins. I activate OpenX-WP in the plugins page (of the new blog) and setup the delivery url in the plugin settings. Then I add the plugin to the sidebar of the new blog, set it to 1 banner, insert the zoneID, done. Now I have 4 different blogs, served by 4 different adservers - just verified. If you wish to contact directly, please feel free to do so, details are at my member-page here. Heiko |

My copy is from 4/2008 but I cannot find that installation. That must be the problem. Now I have to figure out the easiest way to upgrade MU. Thank you for your help. There is no member-page link above. |

Now I am trying to create http://interactive-media-network.com/reviews and the MP MU 2.6.5 will not install. i tried calling tech at the host site but they do not know what the problem is. There is an otherall ini php file with globals on. I do not want to change that because I have multiple script which one may call for them to be on. I am going to try to put another ini php file in reviews and turn globals off and see if that helps but the tech told me it would not. It comes up as a blank page when I put http://interactive-media-network.com/reviews/index.php which it states to do to complete the install. You seemed to have installed it without a problem. Do you think it reconizes the old installation at http://interactive-media-network.com and the other 3 installations? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Maureen |
