I get this error when logging in at https://adserver.openx.org/

QUOTE
An error occurred while accessing the database

Due to a problem with the database OpenX couldn't retrieve or store data.

Can someone help with this?
It started working now, I had to exit all the way out and come back in.

When submitting a zone, nothing happens, then I try it 2 more times, log out, and then come back, and then I see like all 3 of submissions.

Hi bozo,

This is a known problem. Our administrators should fix it within 2 weeks I guess.

I've been using OpenX hosted for a few months and it seems like this is a recurring problem. I'll get it (and other database error issues) over and over and over for a few days where it seems I get more error messages than requested pages, then no error for a few days. Is this a scaling issue?

Right now I'm using the free version, but I aspire to get my advertising to where I NEED the paid version. My concern is that the "official" responses to every thread on this subject is something like "yeah, that was a problem, but we've corrected it". No explanation, and no real solutions (the issues keep coming back). This response (above) is the WORST yet. "should fix it within 2 weeks I guess"? Seriously, when I ran a support group I would have fired the tech who gave that kind of response. First, never say should. Say will or won't. Second, never say I guess. Know, or don't say.

I really want to like OpenX, but if I can't get in at will and manage my account I have to find another solution.

Hi Joey Trimyer,

Welcome to the OpenX community forums!

I understand your confusion. The problems we are facing with OpenX Hosted service are mostly a performance issues. The database errors are caused by the overloaded MySQL servers.

The upgrade process requires a lots of tests and preparations in order to perform it smoothly and without additional problems. The nearest Hosted service upgrade has been sheduled for 15 October, however the final date may be changed.

Hi all,

I see that the upgrade to OpenX Hosted has now been performed. Can any users who were having this issue confirm that everything is now okay?

Thank you!

Sincerely,

I tried to get my stats for the last 7 days and got "The webpage at https://adserver.openx.org/stats.php?statsB...19+October+2009 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."

But then I hit refresh and got stats. So, better, but I wouldn't call it 100%.

Hi I've just started using openX but have been confronted with this database problem tonight. am getting the the followin error when I try to access the stats:

A fatal error occurred OpenX can't connect to the database. Because of this it isn't possible to use the administrator interface. The delivery of banners might also be affected. Possible reasons for the problem are: <ul> <li>The database server isn't functioning at the moment</li> <li>The location of the database server has changed</li> <li>The username or password used to contact the database server are not correct</li> <li>PHP has not loaded the MySQL Extension</li> </ul>

The banners are also sometimes not loading on my forum pages either (seem to be ok on my main site though, www.maxbashing.com)

I only started running my advertising with the open x free version at the weekend so am disappointed to see there are problem with this. How reliable is this site/service?

Is it also better to host the software myself and run my own DB for it? would this be more reliable or are there general bugs with the actual software?

blink.gif We mirror the Linux distribution mirrors such that a booting server retrieves the packages from a

local redundant set of fast WOW Power Leveling. We

also keep a daily snapshot of the Linux distribution mirrors such that when you prelaunch a server

with last year’s version of a ServerTemplate it can retrieve the

Aion Gold packages as they were at that point in time.

This is under user control, you can “freeze” the repos to any day of

WOW Gold choice.
RightScale reliably launches thousands of servers using ServerTemplates each day. Keeping this

machinery reliable as both RightScale and the underlying clouds we manage evolve at breakneck pace

is a top priority for us and involves a significant amount of engineering. One of the tricks we

use to Buy WOW Gold ahead of the curve is that we use

ServerTemplates ourselves, we leverage RightScale to manage everything. The benefits in terms of

automation, control and reliability have been incredible, and at this point we cannot imagine

going back to a pure machine image model of Aion

Gold
.
