We're having the same problems. A small improvement of the user interface would be if the maintenance task is still recalculating a probability, the displayed probability shouldn't read "0%" but something like "n/a (recalculating)".

Okay, can any report if the contract delivery issue has been resolved with this latest up grade?

I won't be able to test it until next month – can't risk failure with my current campaigns. (I'm running them as remnant with manually calculated weights.) But I'm curious, too.

I launched new attempt yesterday. I added a contract campaign and linked it to a zone, and after 24 hours it was still displayed as having zero probability, with not a single impression served. So - no improvement. sad.gif

I do believe the contract function is working. I have been using it since mid October and the campaigns are delivering properly. What I did was reset all the contract campaigns on Friday afternoon (we don't get much traffic to the site on the weekends). By Monday the probabilities were set and the system has been working fine.

OpenX does tend to get ahead on campaign impressions and then slow things down to save some impressions to the end of the contract. Frankly I think that is a good thing. I tried for year to get DART to do the same.

Working these contractt campaigns as remnant requires to much monitoring (I've been there). Give the contract feature a try just before a weekend or holiday. I hope you have the same success as me.

Hi,

for me the contract campaigns are not useable at all. First, it takes about 24 hours before the first ad gets delivered. Before that, the propability stays at 0%. When the ads start to show up, OpenX delivers way too much ads. For example when I set a campaign with an enddate 10 days ahead and 10.000 adimpressions allover, I would expect it to deliver about 1.000 impressions a day. But I get the following deliveries:
Day 1: 0 impressions
Day 2: 4.700 impressions
Day 3: 4.700 impressions
After that I stopped the campaign.

So for me, this feature does not perform at all. It´s a complete flaw.

Best regards
D

Yes, so do I. I don't doubt that it's working in principle, given enough time, and I'm sure it's only an issue with the Hosted service. It's just that in my business it is important to be able to start campaigns within hours, not within several days, end open. DART and Google Ad Manager do that within minutes.
I can imagine that we'll soon switch to the self-hosted version of OpenX.

Hello,

I am also in need to start campaigns quickly. If OpenX self-hosted can do it, why cant´t OpenX hosted? One would have to assume that the creators of this software are capable of hosting and setting it up correctly.....

Hi Dragon 777

You are right. I am wrong and retract my last post. The contract function is not working properly. I am seeing the same behavior as you described. Does anyone know if the contract feature works better with the downloaded product as I am considering moving off the hosted platform.

@ OpenX-Support:

Are there any plans on fixing this issue or will it stay that way? Please keep us updated.

It does. I switched to the self-deployed version a few weeks ago and it doesn't show any of the problems I had with Hosted.
