Vote for the new feature that is most important to you.
This poll is to help identify and prioritize potential new features to be
added to phpAdsNew and/or Max Media Manager.
The developers only have a limited amount of time.
This is your opportunity to give them some wishlist feedback.
What new feature would you most like to see first?

Billing System Integration
Integrate a billing system with services such as PayPal, AuthorizeNet, etc. which
will allow advertisers to purchase and activate ads or campaigns.

Time Zone Management
Time zone now is always the time zone setting of the server.
Enable time zone management to allow activation/deactivation of campaigns,
statistics, etc. to be set to a specific time zone.

Statistics by Keyword
Enable statistics reports by keyword.

Text Ads
Improve support for text ads (similar to Google AdSense ads).

Archive Statistics
Automated archiving of historical statistics with summary statistics reports available.
On the ToDo list for MMM 0.2.

Mass Import
Automated mass import of ads, banners, advertisers, and campaigns from CSV
files, other ad server databases, or?

List Advertisers/Banners
The ability to easily create a web page which lists and displays ads for all
advertisers, all banners, or all campaigns, etc.

Password Reminder
Enable on-demand email reminder of password to administrator, advertiser,
publisher, or agency.

Database Backup
Automated scheduled database backups.

Scheduled Email Reports
Ability to automatically email reports to advertisers, publishers, etc. on a
schedule. Weekly, monthly, every two weeks. etc.

Some other potential features not listed in the poll above:
- XHTML Compliance - on the ToDo list for MMM 0.3 (search for "XHTML" for discussions)
- IAB Compliance - on the ToDo list for MMM 0.3
- Test email button - ability to send a test email immediately to check server setup
- Revenue Tracker - Tips on creating a Revenue Tracker for PAN
- Additional User Types - on the ToDo list for MMM 0.3.
- Weighting by Zone - I know this has been discussed, but I cannot find it again.
- Advertisers Add Own Banners - on the ToDo list for PAN 2.1/MMM 0.1 and MMM 0.2 - coming soon.
- Linked banners - example: display a paired leaderboard and tower on one page
- Integrated calendar/schedule for managing available traffic
- Rename external files from admin interface to help foil ad blockers.

These are all items I have seen multiple times in the forums.
There may be other items I have missed.
Most of the "feature request" posts have been moved to this forum (all I could find).
Please post your comments and VOTE!

Hi -

I added a few other items to this poll that people have asked me for privately. I also removed the requirement to vote before looking at the results.

The items that I added include:

Dead Simple Installation/Upgrade
Have a page which checks the status off every item on the server, and gives advice on what needs to happen (e.g. change the permissions of this file, etc.). Allow a much simpler upgrade, which automatically migrates the config file, and creates a backup of the old database. Allow for a PEAR Install process, so an upgrade could be as simple as running a single command line procedure.

Integration with (Insert project here)
Create 'patches' with other open source applications so that there are shared user tables, as well as seamless integration with popular CMS tools, forum tools, etc.

Publicly Buy or Sell Inventory
Change the functionality of 'public zones', so that they can tell others what inventory (and category) is available for purchase. Automate the purchase process, as well as the transfer of ad tags and zone links into the ad server.

Optimisation
Add processes which analyse historical data, and add delivery limitations and banner-zone links so that banners deliver the best CPC or CPA.

Searchable Documentation
Put the documentation on a wiki, and link to the appropriate place in the documentation from each screen.

Scott,

What do you think about allowing people to vote for more than one feature request - say three.
That way the vote spread would be better and could provide a better ranking
rather than just highlighting the top 2-3 most wanted feature requests.

Thanks.

Ken

I 2nd that (multiple votes). Also, if possible, I'd like to change my vote! I didn't notice:
Automatic Optimisation of Banners across Zones
For me, that's the biggest problem with PAN. My campaigns constantly complete to early or don't complete because of this issue... I voted for Archived Statistics.

I'd also like to suggest another category:
Support for newsletter ads (tracking clicks only - just simply creating a click through URL that would be inserted into our newsletters - these could actually have many other uses too).
Take care,

I checked, and it does not look like this version supports more than one choice. We are upgrading from Invision 1.2 to v2.1 in a few weeks, so maybe the new version of forums will support this...

Yes, mutiple selection would be nice. If all possible, we should have it to where you can number them from least wante to most wanted.

I only checked IPB v1.3 which does support multiple choices, so I assume IPB v2.0.x does also.
And they fixed the poll layout - flush left, not centered.
Upgrading to IPB v2.0.3 will be very nice.
More good changes.

I'd have voted for the "Send Test Email" facility if it had been listed as an option.

Billing Integration would be great if the advertiser is given their credits after payment has been received.

The site administrator would need control over how the paid campaigns are handled after payment. By this I mean things such as being able to select if the banners go directly into rotation or require approval.

Perhaps having a billing group area would be a good idea so that the parameters and options for different campaigns are set for each group and the advertiser buys a campaign within that group. The group system may be something like groups on these threaded forum systems where every member of the group shares the same user permissions and options which are configurable by the site admin.

just as an addon to the decision as the payment as the next step a little site i stumbled on and would be a good base for phpad new. at least the same idea...

www.adbrite.com i used it a while but they are very inflexible. if the idea is imposed on pan this software can become powerfuller than it is. there is also adpeeps which i was considering to buy until i head that the payment update is being setup biggrin.gif

im impatient and cant wait for this feature to become live

Text Ads like Google Adsence please biggrin.gif

That would be a nice addition to my forum directory. Sadly though we can only vote once sad.gif

Oh well. It may be nice if you could add all of them but one at a time depending on position of the vote.

Also, just to add yet another to your list. rolleyes.gif To have a register validation page, so clients/users can register and then pay for what service they would like.

Just an idea biggrin.gif
