Hi - I've been reading many posts in this forum and also the OpneX documentation about how to keep one ad per advertiser per page shown but have not found a solution to the environment I'm using: OpenX 2.8 self-hosted with iframe invocation code. I have not been able to limit an advertiser to one ad per page. The settings just don't seem to work. From what I have read and experienced:
- when setting up the invocation code, the option "Don't show the banner again on the same page" disappears when choosing iframe code (is only there for Javascript and Local mode) - I have checked the setting for each advertiser under Miscellaneous is checked for "Display only one banner from this advertiser on a web page" but still get multiple ads from the same advertiser on the page. Is there something I should set in the invocation code settings for iFrame code that will make this happen? Is there a setting in campaigns or banners that I'm missing? Thanks for any suggestions or pointers. |

Hi remodelista,
Welcome to the OpenX community forums! These options does not work with iFrame invocation tags. This is because an iFrame banner is a separate HTML page and can't know of other banners displayed in other iFrames. |

While not happy with the answer, I now understand what is going on and will revisit using javascript. |

Hi Michal - Yesterday I generated new Javascript invocation code to replace the iFrame code (to solve the issue above) - for all my zones but have to wait a couple days until my developer can install them. Now, a day later, none of my ads are displaying! Does generating new / different invocation code cause the ads linked to the previous code in those zones cause them to stop displaying? What's strange is that this happened about 24 hours later. The site is www.remodelista.com. Thanks for any pointers. |

Hi,
Please try to remove the contents of the 'openx/var/cache' folder. Please also provide me with the maintenance.log and debug.log file contents from the 'openx/var' directory. |

Thanks Michal -
I've asked the developer to get those log files. We have installed the Javascript code now in place of the iFrame invocation code, but the only change is that instead of there being empty spaces where the ads should be, now the space where the ads should be is all gone and closed up (for the moment this actually looks better than having an empty space). One question the developer had when installing the Javascript code is "what do I insert for the phrase 'INSERT_CLICKURL_HERE' ?" When i read through the OpenX documentation, this phrase is for generic third-party tracking so the question is - do i have to set up some additional variables or info in all the banners if this is part of the invocation code, or does it work on a "if the third-party tracking is there, it works, and if it is not there, then it ignores this?" If I'm not currently providing third-party tracking, am i better off generating the invocation code with no tracking? |

Attached is the log file. Not sure if both the debug and maintenance logs are at
the same file or if he didn't activate the maintenance logs but attached is the debug.log file that I did find. (Wouldn't let me upload as bzip2 or .log so converted to .txt) - Josh

Michal,
The clearing of the cache seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the help. |
