Database Connection Error, Database connection error, even after new db password in conf file. Options

Hi,
We had to change the db pw at our site. I have changed the password in the conf.php file in the var directory as well, but I still get:

Database connection error.

A fatal error occurred. OpenX can't connect to the database. Because of this it isn't possible to use the administrator interface. The delivery of banners might also be affected. Possible reasons for the problem are:

The database server isn't functioning at the moment
The location of the database server has changed
The username or password used to contact the database server are not correct
PHP has not loaded the MySQL Extension

Any idea?

I have tried to empty the cache but that only made all ads disappear from the site...
It's really starting to be a little critical here!!

Any ideas?

Did you restart the webserver after changing the conf.php?
Do you use any php cache?
